Tenor Benjamin Kawsky received a master’s degree in vocal performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts where he studied with Allan Glassman. An Indiana native, he received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is the founder and an instructor of BAWS Studio in Chicago, a singing and performing arts school. After graduation he taught biology and coached volleyball at Tippecanoe Valley High School before beginning his professional singing career and founding BAWS Studio.

Benjamin was a young artist with Cedar Rapids for two years and performed roles such as Farmhand in American Gothical (world premiere), Partygoer in Grant Wood in Paris (world premiere), Grant Wood cover in Eight Woods and a Van (world premiere), Walt Dreary in The Threepenny Opera, Sheep/Teen Duck in The Ugly Duckling, Jeff Douglas in Brigadoon, and Pong cover in Turandot. Other roles include Lt.
